Purpose
Ambassadors are official representatives of the Vicksburg – Warren Chamber of Commerce. Ambassadors are one of the most visible “faces” of the Chamber. As volunteers they serve as the public relations arm of the Chamber by acting as a liaison between the Chamber and its members.  They work to strengthen overall relationships with members by assisting the Chamber at events and creating awareness of the Chamber and its opportunities in the community. Ambassadors help retain member relationships which are essential for the long-term success of the Chamber.

Qualifications
To be an ambassador you:

• Must be a current member of the Vicksburg – Warren Chamber of Commerce in good standing.
• Willing to volunteer their time towards chamber events, projects and functions.
• Must support the Chamber and have a strong desire for community involvement.
• Possess motivation and communication skills that will guide new members.

Characteristics of a Chamber Ambassador

• Has a lively, engaging, and proactive personality.
• Can make the shyest person feel comfortable and welcome.
• Projects a positive image for their company and/or the Chamber.
• Enjoys having fun in a professional environment.
• Has confidence to make person contact with any Chamber member.
• Encourages others to become Chamber members.

Ambassador Commitment

• Participate in monthly Ambassador meetings.
• Attend and support Chamber ribbon cuttings, grand openings, business after hours and other events.
• Assist with member retention.
• Greet new Chamber members and introduce them to other members at Chamber events.
• Knowledge of the Chamber, its staff, programs, and benefits.
• Act as a contact for new and existing members to help them in how to best utilize their membership.
• Encourage members to attend Chamber events, programs and get involved, including becoming an Ambassador.

Expectations

• Attend as many events as possible.
• Wear your Ambassador nametag at all Chamber functions.
• To be considered an active Ambassador, earn 15 points per quarter.
• The term of service is one (1) year. Upon completion a new Ambassador Commitment form must be signed.

Recognition

• Your picture with your name and company will be featured on the Ambassador website.
• When present at Ribbon Cuttings, your name and company will be announced.
• Ambassadors will earn points based on participation and attendance to events. Those point are calculated to choose the Ambassador of the Quarter (April, July, October, and December). The winner for each quarter will be announced at the Chamber luncheon, website and on social media.
• Ambassador of the Year, chosen from the four Ambassadors of the Quarter, will be announced at the Annual meeting, website and on social media.

Events & Meetings

• Ambassador meetings are held the 2^nd Monday at noon of each month.
• Ribbon Cuttings are typically held on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 11:00 am or 4:00 pm at either the business or the Chamber office. They can run from 15 minutes to 1 hour.
• Business After Hours are held Thursdays from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
• Monthly luncheons are held the 3rd Wednesday of the month, January through November.
