Ergon Refinery to invest $400 million and add 20 new jobs in Vicksburg

The Vicksburg Warren Economic Development Partnership announced today that Ergon Refinery, Warren County largest private employer, is expanding its operations at the existing Port of Vicksburg. The project will create 20 high paying jobs and will require an investment of $400 million dollars.

A global leader in specialty naphthenic products, Ergon was established in Vicksburg in 1977 and has since become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of oils, process oils, fuels, asphalts, and other petroleum-derived products that support the needs of global customers in more than 100 countries. The project will expand its refinery capabilities to include gasoline production and connect the plant to its Vicksburg fuels terminal. This project, which includes the addition of a dual cogeneration power complex, will optimize Ergon’s Vicksburg operations and ensure a reliable local gasoline supply while enhancing the efficiency and longevity of its facilities. The company plans to complete the project by 2027.The Ergon Refinery is part of the Ergon family of companies, which employ 1,200 people in Mississippi and approximately 900 people in Warren County.
