Chamber of Commerce Luncheon

Vicksburg, Mississippi – (August 6, 2019) – The Vicksburg Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly luncheon on Wednesday, August 21 at the Vicksburg Convention Center. The keynote speaker for the luncheon will be Dr. Felecia Nave, who was recently named President of Alcorn State University.

Dr. Nave is the 20th President of Alcorn State University and made history by being the first female president of the institution. Dr. Nave serves as administrative oversight for Alcorn’s sprawling 1,700-acre Lorman campus and branch locations in Natchez and Vicksburg. Prior to her appointment as Alcorn’s president, Dr. Nave served as Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs for North Carolina Central University, she served as the university’s chief academic officer where she developed, implemented, and managed oversight for all academic degree programs at the university.

Alcorn State, through its presence in Vicksburg, has made it its mission to become an integral part of the growth and development of the City by supporting the economic, civic, educational, and social development of its citizens. Alcorn focuses on accomplishing these goals by joining forces with the Vicksburg-Warren Alcorn Alumni Association, Hinds Community College Vicksburg, the Vicksburg-Warren Public School District, other educational organizations, the Chamber of Commerce, elected leaders, the private sector, and community volunteers.
